The homeowner purchased a 130 year old home in a historic district. Due to the historical nature of this house, the owner was unable to modify the front facade. To modernize the floor plan and to create additional square footage an existing rear/side porch was incorporated to enlarge the kitchen. Originally there was no second floor over the kitchen; the second floor was extended over that space to enlarge the master bedroom and add a large walk-in closet and master bath. In addition they were able to increase the size of the second floor hall bath. The roof of the third floor was raised to extend the attic area to accommodate a powder room, wet bar and roof top deck, providing a breathtaking city view.
